.Most earthquakes tend to happen between plates.
.The earthquakes happen because the plates move and rub together.
.The area where most earthquakes happen is called the Ring of Fire
.The earthquake closest to Manitou Springs was in an area in northern Colorado. It was magnitude of 3 so people here could not be able to feel it because the magnitude would have to be 3.5. The earth skaking was 100times stronger compared to magnitude 1 earthquake. It had about 37,000 more energy released than a magnitude 1 earthquake.

You can protect yourself from an earthquake by putting heavy objects against the walls so they will not fall during the earthquakes. Also you should not stand by things that can fall down or roads and protect your head.
